CRISIS OFFICE

The Portuguese Search and Rescue Association has completed the construction of its crisis and communication office.
In order to analyze data and evidence, crisis and communication offices must receive updated data so that they can carry out correct and reliable analyzes. The staff of this office will view the information on computer panels and maps, update it whenever necessary and inform the command elements, based on technical and scientific data.
It will also have other functions such as:
- inform and reassure the population, thus operating as a communication center,
- act quickly to obtain and control all information,
- deal with all stakeholders, ensuring the distribution of all information,
- control the flow of information until the accident / calamity / catastrophe is resolved, monitoring and analyzing press coverage,
- prepare, prepare and manage the information to be disseminated by APBS operators,
- disseminate and research technical guidelines to all APBS operators,
- establish, coordinate and guarantee communication channels with other institutions,
- ensure the exchange of information between institutions.
